The Ministry of Agriculture, through the Directorate General of Horticulture, is currently implementing the Horticulture Development in Dryland Areas Project (HDDAP) in 13 districts across 7 provinces in Indonesia from 2024 to 2028.
HDDAP aims to develop horticulture villages in dryland areas by increasing production and productivity through various efforts, such as improving inputs, land, water, infrastructure, services, added value, and the competitiveness of the horticultural production.
HDDAP is one of the foreign loan and grant programs (PHLN) funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), collaborateing with KOLTIVA to apply KoltiTrace MIS, a Management Information System (MIS) designed to monitor and manage agricultural projects more effectively.
KOLTIVA is a startup focused on sustainable agriculture and supply chain tracking. It develops software services that enable transparent supply chain tracking from seed to table.
The Director of Horticulture Protection and HDDAP Project Manager, Jekvy Hendra, stated that digitalization is a crucial point in accessing all HDDAP activities. "It is hoped that this activity will become a means to achieve sustainable and bankable farming efforts so that industrial clusters can be built in horticultural development areas, especially in dryland areas. Regional governments, through their Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD), can also support HDDAP activities together with the Ministry of Agriculture to build horticulture from upstream to downstream," said Jekvy Hendra.
To promote the KoltiTrace MIS application, the Directorate General of Horticulture and the KOLTIVA Team conducted field visit aiming to provide training for the central officers responsible for digitalization in the 13 HDDAP districts.
The training consisted of introduction and the application KoltiTrace MIS, including inputting producers’ data, filling in details of garden data, survey plot details, family survey details, Pest and Disease Control Officers (POPT) surveys, fertilization, cultivation, and post-harvest. This was followed by an explanation of the dashboard menu functions and reporting, an overview of the producers’ list recap, producers’ data, producers’ cards, and business data (MSMEs).
"The Android-based KoltiTrace MIS can be used both online and offline, so when in areas with poor signal, data entry can still be done. We hope that with this training, HDDAP digitalization officers will become proficient in operating the KoltiTrace MIS application," concluded Jekvy.
The HDDAP program officially started on Thursday (16/5) with a Kick-Off event in Surabaya, East Java. HDDAP is being implemented in 13 districts, namely Pakpak Bharat, Dairi, Karo, Sumedang, Batang, Wonosobo, Gresik, Lumajang, Sumenep, Bali, Ende, Enrekang, and Gowa.
